Collaborative community research is a vital part of our work. Local community groups, businesses, public sector organisations and individuals both assist with and inform research that is dedicated to improving the lives of our community and contributing to the well-being of the region.
Current innovative and impactful projects and institutes include our Devo-Manc Hub, which brings together work from across the University to analyse and inform the progress of Greater Manchester's devolution future; and the Manchester Institute for Collaborative Research on Ageing (MICRA), which works directly with and for older people in the local community in order to improve services and support for them across Manchester - the UK's first city to achieve World Health Organization 'age-friendly' status.
